Using these simple sentences, you can introduce and cement in the minds of the reader some key ideas or concepts in your research paper.Transition phrases are so effective because they maintain the flow of your paper. You are not forcing a change in your reader's mind but instead helping them to associate new knowledge with some past information in your paper. If you do not use transition phrases effectively, your research paper will be slow to settle into place and will lack clarity as a result.Your transition phrases should not be too complex but should make the reader think. The end result should be to introduce your topic or ideas in a way that introduces the concept in a simple and clear manner.Start your transition phrases with the 'I' verb. The 'or'and' style is very easy to remember and is often an indication of 'to or from' as well as 'into'.A 'then' is used as a transition phrase to show that your research paper will continue in a certain direction. Remember, they help to bring your papers to life by connecting different ideas.
